Lagerstroemia indica x subcostata Amabilis Makino White
A natural Japanese hybrid between L. indica and L. subcostata. It is a well-branched shrub with an attractive bark that peels off in places. In summer, the shrub is covered with large inflorescences of pale purple flowers. The leaves turn colour in autumn. A very beautiful flowering shrub suitable for a sunny position in very well-drained soil, even dry and poor soil.
