‘Gamad V’ (Press release Razzle Dazzle Dwarf Crapemyrtle Series, McCorkle Nurseries, Inc., Marietta, GA, spring 2006). (US plant patent no. 17,411): Deciduous, compact shrub to 51 cm high and 105 cm wide after 3 years; leaves 42 mm long and 21 mm wide, young leaves yellow-green N146A on top and yellow-green 146B on the underside, both with a grey-purple 183A margin, mature leaves yellow-green 147A on top and green 137C on the underside; inflorescences 12.7 cm long and 9.7 cm wide, with 25 to 35 flowers per inflorescence, flowers 29.5 mm long and 29.5 mm wide emerge purple 76a, mature to reddish purple 73B and fade to violet 84B. Originated as a seedling selected from about 1,000 seedlings grown from seed collected in 1997 from a collection of dwarf rapemyrtles in Athens, Georgia (Monrovia Nursery Co. Azusa, CA. Catalogue 2013): Bright pink flowers. A dwarf, bulbous shrub 90 cm tall and wide. Named and introduced in 2006 by Michael Dirr. Name registered on 15 January 2014.
