(US plant patent no. 17,216): Deciduous, compact shrub up to 61 cm high and 86 cm wide after 3 years; leaves 19 mm long and 12.5 mm wide, young leaves Green 137A on top and Green 143A on bottom, mature leaves Green 139A on top and Green 137B on bottom, autumn leaves top Purple N 77 and bottom Yellow-green 146C with a margin of Purple N 77; inflorescences 5.1 cm long and 3.8 cm wide with 9 flowers per inflorescence, flowers 13 mm long and 25 mm wide emerge Red Purple 60B to Red Purple 59C in full bloom, fade to Red Purple 63A; Emerge from open pollinated seed of POCOMOKE (Monrovia Nursery Co., Azusa, CA, 2013): Raspberry-red flowers. Dense, upright growth habit, slow-growing, 1.2 to 1.8 metres high and 0.6 to 0.9 metres wide. Named and introduced in 2006 by Michael Dirr. Name registered on 15 January 2014.
